About Open Hardware Observatory OHO e.V.

What is OHO? OHO e.V. (www.oho.wiki) is a non-profit association from Berlin, which is active in the field of sustainable development and open knowledge. It was founded as a spin-off of the Technical University of Berlin. OHO's approach is to support open hardware projects, to develop them further and to distribute them as free knowledge.	Why does OHO exist? There are many good do-it-yourself and open hardware projects around the world which offer low-cost and proven solutions for sustainable development. However, most of these projects do not publish building plans, material lists, and assembly instructions, and therefore cannot be replicated by other individuals, companies, or organizations. OHO is working to change this.
What are the goals of OHO? • Find good do-it-yourself and open hardware projects • Create blueprints for selected projects and publish them under free licenses. • Certify and improve selected projects by experienced experts.	What is the vision of OHO? Our vision is that through a network of diverse organizations and individuals, a "Wikipedia for Sustainable Technologies" will be created, helping to make our planet more sustainable and livable.
