Description
An important area that is still underrepresented in the GVCS is ... clothing and textiles. Actually something very elementary. Imagine a well-functioning eco-community with wool from sheep or (for the vegans) flax linen.
But how do you get fabrics and cloth for clothing from it? The answer is: knit or weave.
Since this is a rather time-consuming matter it would be nice to be able to do this with the help of machines. For example with a self-built weaving machine, as shown in the video at www.kickstarter.com.
To build such a machine you need to have an idea of how weaving works. And this little project should help us to do so: A simple manual comb loom, with a wooden frame and ABS plastic comb and ratchet from the 3D printer.
