About OHO

The Open Hardware Observatory (OHO) was founded by the non-profit association, Open Source Ecology Germany e.V. (OSEG) and the Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin). OHO consists of a Search Engine and an Assessment Platform. The Search Engine provides searches for Open Hardware and Do It Yourself projects throughout the Web. It offers full-text search, category search, and professional search. Every user can upload their projects to OHO.

The Assessment Platform is based on DIN SPEC 3105, which was developed by OSEG, TU Berlin, and other institutions in cooperation with the German Institute for Standardization (DIN e.V.). This provides an ideal opportunity for individuals and organizations to review their projects.
